shape ♂Antennae setaceous, as long as the body and 34 segments [C]. Antennae ♂ as long as the body. 32-34 segments [M]. Antennae 31-segmented [T4, zimini]. 32 - 34 segments [S1].
color
mesosoma
shapePropodeum with 2 short blunt teeth at the angles [C][M].
color♂: Legs bright yellowish-red, coxae and trochanters black, tips of hind femora, tibiae, and all the tarsi, except the basal segment, dark [C][M]. Hind femur reddish yellow [P1, zimini].
wings
shapeMarginal cell elongate, acuminate, the SR1 almost straight; radius of the hind wings curved [M]. Pterostigma as long as 1-R1, r shorter than 3-SR (Fig.3, see arrows) [P7]. 1-R1 usually somewhat shorter than pterostigma, r shorter than 3-SR (fig. 6) [P1, zimini].
colorWings darkened with a white horseshoe line round the stigma, which is brown as well as the veins [C]. Wings usually faintly brownish fumous [P1, zimini].
metasoma
shapeCarapace slightly incurved ventro-apically (Fig. 5), evenly broadening posteriorly (Fig. 4) [P7]. ♂ Metasoma 2.5 times as long as wide, posteriorly less distinctly curved forward [T4, zimini]. ♂ Metasoma clearly longer than head and mesosoma [S1].
sculptureMetasoma reticulated [C]. Anterior two-thirds of carapace longitudinally striate, hind third rugose, weakly rugose to rugulose [P7]. Metasoma weakly sculptured in apical third [T4].
color♂: orange, with a triangular black spot at the base, nearly reaching a black dorsal stripe, arising from the apex, which is black [C][M]. ♀: Carapace yellowish-brown, apically black [P7]. Carapace of female reddish yellow, its hind third black [P1, zimini]. ♂ Metsaoma brownish red [T4]. ♂: Apex and middle of metasoma are black [S4]. ♂ metasoma red till the middle, with a cross-shaped black pattern [S1].

remarksCh. elongatus and Ch. zimini [wesmaelii] are very similar to each other. perhaps Ch. zimini will prove to be in the future only a light coloured variety of Ch. elongatus [P1].
