Temple in dorsal view relatively strongly rounded (Fig. 3) [P4]. Longitudinal eye diameter 2.5 times longer than gena height. Head 1.1 times as wide as mesonotum. [T11]. Head in dorsal view 2.1-2.2 times as broad as long, temple (Fig. 1) rounded to strongly rounded (less frequently constricted), one-fourth shorter than eye and occiput deeply excavated [P6]. The head is slightly wider than the chest, roundly narrowed behind the eyes, its width is approximately twice its length. The temples are half as long as the transverse diameter of the eye. Width of ocellar triangle nearly equal to OOL; POL 2.5 times eye diameter. The longitudinal diameter of the eye is twice the transverse diameter, 2.5-3 times the height of the cheek. Carapace in lateral view more convex or posteriorly higher than anteriorly (Fig. 5). Carapace reflexed apically by 0.1 its length and regularly rounded. Metasoma 1.5-1.65 times longer than wide [P4]. Mesosoma in lateral view 1.4-1.5(-1.6) times as long as high (♀ ♂) [P6, key] [fig 5: 3.0 times]. Metasoma oval, apically slightly bent forward, 1.5-1.6 times as long as wide [T14]. sculptureMetasoma with longitudinal rugae at the base [Ab2]. Longitudinal rugae abundant and weakly raised, occasionally almost undeveloped. remarksThe two species [depressus and subcontractus] are quite similar and they seem to be very closely related to each other [P4]. Close to Chelonus сontractus Nees, from which it differs in a short marginal cell, which is half the length of the pterostigma [Ab2].
hostsM. subcontractus was noticed parasitizing on fall webworm [Hyphantria cunea] (Tobias, 1990).

♀♀. 4 мм. Голова заметно шире груди, за глазами округленно суженная, немногим более чем вдвое шире своей длины; затылок сильно вырезанный, виски почти вдвое короче ширины глаза; глазки в тупоугольном треугольнике, основание которого заметно меньше или почти равно расстоянию от него до глаза; расстояние между задними глазками в 3—4 раза больше диаметра глазка; продольный диаметр глаза вдвое больше поперечного, почти в 2.5 раза длиннее щек; высота лица вдвое меньше его щирины, заметно больше высоты наличника; наличник в 1.5 раза шире своей высоты; расстояние между тенториальными ямками немного больше расстояния от ямки до глаза, немного больше высоты наличника; хоботок неразвит; челюстные щупики короче высоты головы. Усики немного длиннее головы и груди, тонкие, нитевидные; 1-й членик жгутика в 1.5 раза короче основного, почти в 1.5 раза длиннее 2-го; членики жгутика от основания к вершине постепенно укорачивающиеся, на вершине наполовину длиннее своей толщины.
Грудь на треть длиннее своей высоты; нотаули иеясные; промежуточный сегмент сзади обрывистый, со слабым поперечным валиком и двумя небольшими зубцами по бокам. Передний кран радиальной ячейки переднего крыла приблизительно вдвое короче стигмы; 2-й отрезок радиальной жилки равен 1-му, втрое короче 3-го, в 2.5 раза короче 1-й радиомедиалыюй жилки; нервулюс отходит на расстояние трети длины задней стороны дискоидальной ячейки (рис. 7). Задние бедра в 4 раза длиннее своей ширины; большая шпора задних голеней немного длиішоо трети 1-го членика лапки; 5-й членик задних лапок равен 3-му, меньше 2-го. Брюшко едва короче головы и груди, сзади слабо подогнутое, овальное: его длина наполовину больше ширины в средней части, почти втрое больше высоты в вершинной трети; длина нижнего отверстия панциря равна 6/7 длины брюшка. Яйцеклад слабо выступает из-под панциря брюшка. Тело в коротких редких волосках, густо морщпннстопуиктпровашюе, матовое, наличник и щитик густо, но нежно пунктированные, слегка блестящие; затылок слабо поперечноморщинистый; брюшко в основании с продольными складками; задние тазики густо морщнннстопупктнрованные, слабоблестящно. Черный; щупики, вершины бедер, голени и лапки передних ног, голени и ланки средних ног, основная половина гол опой и лапки задних ног коричневато-желтые. Крылья затемненные, стигма и жилки коричневые, жилки в основании крыла желтые.
Самец похож на самку. Заднее отверстие панциря брюшка небольшое, около 1/3 ширины панциря, слабопоперечное.
