colorBlack, weakly shining, coarsely rugose [S2].
head
shapeHead in dorsal view (Fig. 2) transverse, twice as broad as long, eye (as long as temple to) 1.7-1.85 times as long as temple, temple receded, occiput deeply excavated. Ocelli small and round, OOL one-fourth longer than POL. Eye in lateral view twice as high as wide, temple beyond eye just as wide as eye (Fig. 45, see arrows). Malar space a bit longer than basal width of mandible. Face 2.2 times as wide as high, inner margin of eyes just converging. Clypeus 1.5 times as wide below as high medially, its lower margin medially just emarginated (Fig. 4). ♂: Head in dorsal view 1.9-2 times as broad as long [P7].
sculptureFace roughly rugose; clypeus densely punctate, interspaces shorter than punctures. Vertex and occiput less roughly striate (Fig. 2) [P7]. Face and eye-rim coarsely rugose [S3].
colorMandible reddish yellow, palpi dark brown [P7].
antenna
shape ♀20 segments [S2]. Antenna just as long as head and mesosoma combined and with 19 or 20 (-24) segments. Thrid segment 2.5 times as long as broad, further segments shortening so that penultinate segment cubic [P7]. Antennae shorter than the head and mesosoma, thick; segments in apical third of flagellum square and transverse [T16]. Antennae shorter than head and mesosoma together, thick; apical segments square or wider [T4].
shape ♂25 segments [S2]. Antenna as long as head, mesosoma and anterior third of carapace combined, with 25-31 segments [P7].
colorAntenna black [P7].
mesosoma
shapeMesosoma in lateral view 1.4 times as long as high. Propodeum with weak transverse carina, carina medially with a pair of small tubercules, laterally ending in a pair of teeth [P7]. Propodeum with two teeth [S3].
sculptureMesosoma rugose, notaulix indistinct. Propodeum rugose to roughly rugose [P7].
color
legs
shape♀: Hind femur 2.9 - 3.2(-3.5) times as long as broad medially. Inner spur of hind tibia clearly to just longer than half basitarsus. Hind basitarsus as long as tarsomeres 2-4 combined. ♂: Hind femur 3.5-3.7 times as long as broad medially (Fig. 11) [P7].
sculpture
colorThe hind legs are black, middle of tibia and bases of metatars are more or less red [S3]. Legs black, trochantelli and femora with brownish tint; femora apically, tibiae 1-2 and basitarsi brownish yellow, hind tibia brownish black with a proximal yellow ring, tarsi brownish to brown [P7]. Hind femora black [T16]. Legs black, middle of hind tibia and base of tarsus reddish [Te1]. Hind femora black [T4]. Hind tibiae only in top half red [S3].
wings
shapeFore wing about one-fourth shorter than body. Pterostigma (Fig. 6) 2.8 times as long as wide issuing r (just) distally from its middle (Fig. 10), 3-SR twice as long as r, 1-R1 0.75 times as long as pterostigma [P7]. SR1 straight [S3].
shapeThe metasoma is as long as head plus mesosoma, elliptical, short and stocky, with two basal carina sloping outwards [S2]. ♀: Carapace in dorsal view (Fig. 49) 1.6 times as long as broad medially, apically rounded. Pair of basal keels short and weak, restricted to declivous basal part of carapace. Carapace in lateral view deeply declivous, i.e. 1.75-1.85 times as long as high behind and clearly incurved ventrally (Fig. 8, see arrows). In ventral view aparture of carapace clearly one-third shorter than carapace itself (Fig. 9). ♂: Carapace in lateral view 1.85-2.3 times as long as high [P7]. The posterior part of the carapace is very strongly bent forward from below, the ventral opening of the carapace is equal to 2/3 of the length of the metasoma [T16]. Metasoma elliptical, strongly widened in the middle [Te1]. Carapace posteriorly very slightly curved forward ventrally [?], ventral opening of carapace equal to 2/3 of metasomal length [T4].
sculptureThe rugae form irregular furrows which are lost over the middle of the metasoma [S2].
colorCarapace basally with a pair of yellow maculae, sometimes small [P7]. ♂: no macula on metasoma [Zh1]. Metasoma black [T16]. Metasoma with yellow or red spots at the base [Te1]. Metasoma black [T4].
♀ ovipositorOvipositor sheath short [P7].

distribution
remarksIt sharply differs from other closely related species in the shape of the metasoma [Te1].
