Microchelonus irritus Tobias, sp. n. (Figs. 29-31).
This species is close to M. sordipalpis sp. n. and M. luteipalpis sp. n. described above and differs from them in characters cited in the key to species, and also in less developed transverse ridge and teeth of propodeum. Furthermore, from the latter species it differs in having the basal vein less distant from nervulus.
♀. Length of body 2.6-2.9 mm. Distance between posterior ocelli 3 times diameter of ocellus. Longitudinal diameter of eye 1.5 times transverse diameter, and 0.77 width of face. Height of face 0.56 width, 1.2 times height of clypeus. Distance between tentorial pits 1.2 times distance from tentorial pit to eye. Maxillary palpi equal to height of face with clypeus. Antennae with dense, small setae, and matt Length of mesosoma 1.5-1.6 times height; lateral teeth of propodeum weakly obtusely angulate, transverse ridge not distinct Anterior margin of radial cell 0.67 pterostigma; 2nd segment of radial vein 1.5-2 times as long as 1st segment, 0.33-0 JO length of 2nd segment; 0.50-0.67 1st radiomedial vein. 3rd segment of radial vein at apex convex outwardly or straight Nervulus distant from basal vein by 0.3-0.6 length. Inner spur of hindtibia 0.4 length of 1st hindtarsal segment Length of metasoma 1.9-2 times width. Ovipositor hidden or protruding as far as length of 1-2 hindtarsal segments.
Clypeus coarsely punctate, with transverse rugae in lower part and on sides, and shiny. Mesonotum lacking developed longitudinal ridge in middle and with weak transverse rugules anteriorly. Scutellum coarsely rugulose-punctate and matt.
Palpi dark brown. Apices of forefemora and forelibia brownish yellow. Apices of midfemora and basal half of midtibia, 1st hindtarsal segment yellowish brown. Tarsi, apical half of midtibia, and entire hindtibia brown. Wings weakly darkened.
Other characters as in M. luteipalpis sp. n.
♂. Length 2.9-3.4mm. Antennae filiform, as long as head, mesosoma and half metasoma: 21-22-segmented. Opening at apex of metasoma very small, almost punctate, round or weakly oval.
Holotype: ♀, Hebrew Autonomous Province, 20 km NW of Amurzet, steppe slope, 17.VI.1985 (Kasparyan). Paratypes: 2 ♀s, and 1 ♂ with data as in holotype; 1 ♂, same locality, 17.IV, 2 ♂s same locality, airport, steppe meadow, 16.VI, 1 9, 1 ♂, meadow, 16.VI. 1985 (Belokobyl’skiy). Maritime Terr.: 1 vicinity of Spassk. broadleaf forest, 30.VI. 1985 (Belokobyl’skiy); 1 ♂, same locality, Quercus sp. and mixed forest, 30.VI. 1985 (Kasparyan).
The Holotype of M. minutes[sic] sp. n. in venation of forewing (Fig. 30) rather considerably differs from other specimens in the long 2nd segment of the radial vein and more postfurcal nervulus (distant from basal vein by 0.6 its length, usually only 0.3). However, other specimens collected on the same day (2 ♀ s, 1 ♂) are completely identical in all remaining characters, which allows with certainity to consider these differences as vriation within one species.
