sculptureHead reticulate-rugose, striate-rugose round the orbits and cheeks; clypeus shining, punctulate; frontal fovea rugose, hardly more shining than the rest of the head, geminated by a carina [M]. Usually with not more than five transverse rugae on vertex behind ocelli [Ay2]. Vertex with coarse transverse striae behind ocelli (Fig. 11) [E1]. Vertex with rough linear rugae;temple and face with rough reticular rugae;

shape ♀Antennae setaceous, shorter than body [L]. Shorter than the body, compresso-dilated beyond the middle, the last 5 - 6 segments rapidly decreasing in size, 23—24- (rarely 25-) segments [M]. Antenna not much longer than half body size, setaceous, 25-28 segments easy to distinct [H]. 26 segments, obviously thickened from the middle [Zh1]. 24 - 26 segments [T4][T16].

shapePropodeum short, transverse, truncated, 4-denticulate [M]. Propodeum with 2 diverging longitudinal carina (with in between sometimes a third), and sideways pointed hind corners; in front of these two more blunt ones [H]. Propodeum with distinct transverse carina and pointed side teeth [Zh1].

sculptureScabrous [L]. Propodeum reticulate-rugose. Mesonotum reticulate-rugose, the reticulations coarser behind, and falling into irregular striae before the scutellum. Scutellum smooth in the middle, except two or three faint striae, reticulated and margined all round ; the basal fovea cancellated [M]. Mesosoma with 3 longitudinal impressions and large punctures, making it seem latticed. Scutellum with double lateral carina, in front deeply notched, in the middle smooth, shiny, barely finely punctated [H]. Mesonotum reticulate-rugose, coarser before scutellum. Propodeum roughly reticulate-rugose. Metanotum roughly reticulate-rugose [Zh1].

colorLegs yellow-brown except tibiae black [L]. Legs orange-brown, coxae, trochanters, femora at the base more or less, and 4 posterior tibiae at the apex sometimes, black; tarsi dark, black at the tips, the first joint brownish-yellow with the apex dark; spurs pale [M]. Hind femora brownish red [Ay1].

shapeSR1 of the fore wings curved, concave outwardly; radius of the hind wings sinuated. Wingspan 11.3mm [M]. Vein r of fore wing distinctly angled with vein 3-SR (Fig. 13) [E]. 1-CU1 = 0.5 times 2-CU1 [Te1].

colorVein 1-M of fore wing yellowish [E]. Wings smoky-transparent, nearly transparent at the base; a curved whitish streak under the stigma, which together with the outer veins is dark; costa and parastigma yellow-brown; M+CU1 and other basal veins of all the wings brownish-yellow [M].

metasoma

shapeOblong and oval [L]. Metasoma ♂ depresso-cylindrical; viewed laterally, clavate; obtuse behind, rather longer than the head and mesosoma, the sides subparallel, very slightly sinuated near the basal tubercles; of the ♀ shorter, the sides somewhat curved, and the apex rounded [M]. Apex of metasomal shield on lower side with deep and wide groove; apex of metasomal shield curved forward [Ay2].

sculptureThe base covered with coarse reticulations arranged in striae, two of which are often more elevated, forming carinae; the reticulations become shorter and finer posteriorly, so that the apex is more shining, and almost punctate [M]. The basal half of the metasoma has longitudinal rugae; the apical part is roughly irregularly rugose [Te1].

colorTwo basal whitish transparent spots [L]. Metasoma with or without 2 basal yellowish rounded spots [M]. ♂ rarely with basal spots, usually completely black [H2].

♀ ovipositorOvipositor rigid, recurved, hardly longer than body [L]. Ovipositor ♀ brownish-yellow with black valves, falcate, concealed in repose, but capable of being protruded a little beyond the anus [M]. The ovipositor is thick, strongly curved upward [Te1]. Ovipositor long and thick, distinctly falcate [AyB1].

Habitat Upsaliæ, C. G, Kækeritz.

Corpus magnitudine formica rufæ toto coelo a reliquis diversum. Antennæ setaceæ, corpore breviores. mesosoma scabriusculus. metasoma oblongum, obtusissimum, opacum, absque ulla incisura, teretiusculum, subtus concavum, ac si visceribus destitutum : Macula diaphana, albida, utrinque versus basin. Aculeus exsertus, rigidus, recurvatus, vix abdomine longior. Pedes ferruginei exceptis tibiis nigris. Palpi filiformes.
