antenna
shape ♀The antennae are a little longer than half the body, segments loose and cylindrical at the base, shorter and denser from the middle to the end (of 18 segments) [W]. Antenna three-fourths as long as body, with 17-19 segments. Third segment 3 times and penultimate segment 1.4-1.5 times as long as broad apically [P1]. The ♀ with 18 segments, as long as the body, slightly compresso-dilated beyond the middle, segments 15-17 tapering, 18 abruptly smaller, linear [M]. shape ♂♂ Antenna as long as three-fourths to four-fifths of body, with 26-27 segments. Third segment three times and penultimate segment 1.8-2 times as long as broad [P1]. ♂ 23 segments (about 20 segments according to Thomson), somewhat longer than the body [M]. Antennae thin, filiform, with 27 segments. Segments of the flagellum are twice as long as wide [Te1].
colorScape apically faintly rusty [P1].
mesosoma
shapeThe teeth of the propodeum are short and acute [W]. Mesosoma in lateral view 1.66 times as long as high [P1]. The notauli are weak, propodeum with short, obtuse teeth [Te1]. Propodeum inclined from the base, hardly truncate posteriorly, bluntly 4-dentate, with 2 short medial ridges not reaching the base or the apex. Post-scutellum [metanotum?] not dentiform [M]
sculptureThe surface of the scutellum is shiny, completely finely punctated, denser towards the apex [W]. Mesosoma rugose, mesonotum and scutellum somewhat less rugose, subshiny, notaulix distinct by rougher sculpture [P1]. Hairs form 2 tufts at the angles of the propodeum. Mesonotum somewhat shining and punctulate in front, subreticulated with longer punctures before the scutellum, which is minutely punctulate and almost smooth. Propodeum reticulate-rugose [M]. Mesonotum and scutellum slightly rugose, slightly shining. The pronotum, the mesoplurae, and the propodeum are rather coarsely rugose [Te1].
color
legs
shapeHind femur 3.3 times as long as broad medially. Pair of spurs of hind tibia unequal, inner spur half as long as hind basitarsus. Hind basitarsus somewhat longer than hind tarsomeres 2-4 combined [P1]. The spurs of the hind tibia are equal to 1/2 of the first tarsus segment [Te1].
sculpture
colorThe coxae and trochanters are black, femora and tibiae of the fore- and mid legs are yellow-brown, the hind femora are blackish at the base, brownish at the tip; hind tibiae brownish at the base, whitish in the middle and black at the tip. Fore- and middle tarsi are blackish-brown, hind tarsi are blackish [W]. ♀ Coxae and trochanters 1-2 dark brown to brown, coxa and trochanter 3 black to blackish; femora and tibiae 1-2 yellow, femur 3 blackish and apically reddish, tibia 3 blackish with yellow ring proximally, tarsi 1-3 yellow with brownish suffusion. ♂ Yellow colour more vivid and somewhat more extended on legs [P1]. Fore and middle tibiae, apex of fore and middle femora and base of hind tibiae red [Te1].
wings
shapeFore wing as long as three-fourths of body. Pterostigma (Fig. 3) 2.1-2.3 times as long as wide, issuing radial vein distally from its middle, r somewhat longer than 3-SR, SR1 straight and ending far before tip of wing. R1 as long as pterostigma, 1-R1 somewhat shorter than pterostigma itself [P1]. Radius of the hind wings straight, except its basal curvature [M]. ♀: r is equal to 3-SR and to r-m. SR1 4 times longer than 3-SR. 1-R1 equal to length of pterostigma. 1-CU1= 0.5 2-CU1. ♂: vein r is noticeably longer than 3-SR and r-m [Te1].

type description
8. C. Canescens. Mihi. ♀.
Niger, rugulosus , hypostomato densius cano tomentoso; femoribus tibiisgue anterioribus rufo teslaceis , tibiis posticis in medio palpisque alidis; scutello confertim punctulato; abdomine basi bicarinato; metathorace bidentato; ♀. 2. li.
