type description
Microchelonus bosonohyi sp. n.
Male
Head. In dorsal view roundly narrowed behind eyes, almost twice as broad as long (57 : 29), 1.2 times as broad as mesosoma. In frontal view 1.1 times as broad as high. Ocelli small, not widely separated, POL = 1.5 times OOL. Temples as long as LO. Antennae with 23 segments, almost as long as body length; scape 3 times as long as wide; 1st flagellar segment about 3.5 times as long as wide, apical segments 2-2.5 times as long as wide.
Mesosoma. In dorsal view almost as broad as carapace. In lateral view 1.8 times as long as high and almost as long as length of carapace.
Wings. Radial cell in forewing comparatively large, its length along the metacarp as long as pterostigma. Second radio-medial cell half the size of the radial cell. Second radial abscissa as long as first abscissa, 4 times shorter than third abscissa.
Legs. Hind femora 3.5 times as long as broad. Outer spur of hind tibiae longer than inner spur, almost reaching half of 1st metatarsal segment.
Metasoma. Carapace elongate, almost twice (95 : 48) as long as maximum breadth; apicoventrally incurved for one-tenth of its length. AMA oval and small, in rear view of posterior end about 0.27 of width of carapace
Sculpture. Head behind eye and face finely transversely striate. Frons with fine concentrical sculpture. Clypeus largely punctate and not shining. Mesonotum rugose punctate. Scutum anteriorly granulate punctate, area before scutellum with some rugae. Scutellum largely not roughly sculptured, centrally shining. Propodeum granulate rugose with transversal carina, lateral tubercles small. Carapace granulate with thin longitudinal undulations spanning half its lengthwise visible surface.
Colour. Body black. Labiomaxillary complex dark brown. Legs: fore coxae dark-brown, hind coxae black; fore femora brown with yellowish apices, hind femora dark-brown; fore tibiae yellowish, hind tibiae dark-brown with a central brown spot; all tarsi brown. Forewings slightly infuscate. Pterostigma, costal vein and and metacarpus brown, other veins brownish.
Body length: 3.1mm.
Taxonomic affinity and comparison. It resembles M. olgacola Tobias, from which it differs mainly in bigger body size, wider head than mesosoma (in olgcicola it is slightly narrower than mesosoma), and darker colouring of legs (in olgacola hind femora are entirely brown, while in bosonohyi they are entirely dark).
Etymology. The species name refers to the locality in Moravia where it was found.
Distribution. Czech Republic
Holotype: 1 (5), ČR, Moravia, Brno, Bosonohy, leg. Fr. Gregor, 4.vi.l939, ['6-dentata'] ['semicincul' ♂22].
